She writes "William Harleston is my ancestor. Thought he never had a white wife, he did have eight (8) children by Kate Wilson, formerly his slave. The eight children were Hannah Harleston, Edwin Gaillard Harleston, Robert Othello Harleston, Richard Henry Harleston (my great grand father), John Harleston, Sylvia Harleston, Susan Harleston and Sarah Harleston. This was mentioned briefly in Edward Ball's book, Slaves in the Family. Edward Ball will be publishing a book later this year entirely on William Harleston's family. I don't know the title of the book."
