Biografia

Nasceu em Cuiabá-MT, aos 24 de agosto de 1898. Seus pais foram Egídio da Silva Prado e Regina Leverger Corrêa Prado.

Seus estudos foram realizados na Capital, tornando-se professora pela Escola Normal Pedro Celestino, formando-se no ano de 1917, ocasião em que foi lecionar em Três Lagoas e depois em Campo Grande. Era conhecida, na intimidade, como Professora Galega.

Em 1921, quando foi criado o Centro Mato-Grossense de Letras, integrou o quadro dos sócios fundadores e também sua primeira diretoria, na função de Tesoureira.

Detentora de cultura exemplar, colaborou em diversos periódicos de Mato Grosso, a exemplo da Folha da Serra, de Campo Grande, contribuindo com muitos artigos sob o pseudônimo de Delorme Vaz e também Zilá Donato. Foi uma das fundadoras do Grêmio Literário Júlia Lopes, ao lado de Maria Dimpina Lobo Duarte, Marianinha Póvoas, Maria de Arruda Müller, Regina Prado e muitas outras, responsáveis não só pela administração da entidade, mas vanguardistas no espaço cultural, criando a revista A Violeta, periódico de grande circulação nos meios intelectuais de Mato Grosso.

Faleceu no Rio de Janeiro-RJ, aos 82 anos, lúcida e produtiva intelectualmente.
