      Shawn Gott, 43, of Jonesboro, AR., died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN. after a long battle with cancer.

      Shawn was born March 7, 1970, to the late Ted Gott and Linda Moss in Jonesboro. He lived all his life in the Jonesboro area.

      He was a member of the Bono Church of Christ. He was a loving husband and father who loved and lived his life for the Lord. He enjoyed several hobbies including studying his Bible and listening to a capella music. He had a passion and understanding for politics and fly fishing. He served as chairman on the local board for the Right for Life from 2001 to 2008, and chairman on the state board for the Right for Life from 2002 to 2008. His loving personality and love for life will be missed but never forgotten.

      In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Ann Gott, and maternal grandparents, Cy and Audrey Bailey.

      He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy, and son, Nate Gott, both of the home; brother, Mark (Bonnie) Underwood of Jonesboro; sister, Angela (Adam) Blanks of Jackson, Miss.; grandfather, Carroll Gott of Jonesboro; stepmother, Carol Gott of Maumelle; uncle, Tim Gott of North Little Rock; aunt, Carola Clayton of Hazen; a special little K9 friend, Buster; and a host of other family and friends.

      Funeral services were by the Emerson Memorial Chapel. Burial was in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
