He was a Physician. After things were settled in Texas James became the Ginner of the Cones Gin Mill. He also ran the Wood Shop and made many a casket for neighbors and friends, also for his own Granddaughter Annie. Jame's served in the Civil war for the South.
James was listed in the Gonzales Inquirer in Vol 26 Jan. 18, 1879 pg 3, stating him as Rev., V ol.26 #48 May 10 1879 p2, as Rancho Jottings, vol.26 #30 Jan 4 1879 p3, again as Rev., vol.2 8 #51 June 11 1881 inPersonals, vol. 30 Jul 1 1882 and 31 Jan 12 1884 as Rev. vol32 #42 Apr 2 51885 he was to Lecture., vol 41 #38 mar 1 1894 he announced candidacy,vol 43 #22 Nov 8 189 4 incomplete election returns, vol 41 #47 may 3 1894in Populist Primary.
