      TOM MAURY HUMPHRIES

      Tom Maury Humphries, 84, of Mission, Texas, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2006 at Lifecare Hospital of South Texas in McAllen, Texas.

      Graveside service was held at Mizpah Cemetery in Durant, MS at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 14, 2006. Rev. Matt Brady was the officiating minister. Southern Funeral Home of Durant was in charge of arrangements.

      Mr. Humphries was born in Durant on April 21, 1921, a son of Tom Sage Humphries and Lucy Maury Humphries. He was a retired trucking and dairy farmer and was a member of the Presbyterian church.

      He was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Brown Humphries.

      Survivors include his wife, Myra Brumfield Humphries of Mission, Texas; a daughter, Lucy Baessler and husband, Richard, of Durant; a grandson, Richard M. Baessler of Durant; and many nieces and nephews.
