1 NOTE George was born in 1844 in Tennessee. He was four years oldwhen Spicey and Milton set out for Texas from Tennessee. Duringthe Civil War he joined the 11th Texas Infantry along with hisfather and William F. and Garret Cornelison. There areconflicting reports on when George returned from the war. Onereport says that he was too sick to join and returned in July of1862. Another report lists himas still with the 11th in 1863.He then returned to Cherokee County. Sometime there after thewhole family moved to Grayson county, Texas, near Collinsville.They stayed there until the turn of the century. In 1900 GeorgeW.'s son, George E., set out with his young wife to Oklahoma.George W. and the rest of the family met them there where Erikis now located in 1901. George W. had two wives. The firstwas Sarah Elizabeth Riggins. He had seven children with her.After her death he married Mary Elizabeth Campbell. She wassmall of stature and cripled in one arm, but she had at leastthirteen children (Homer Ira said fourteen).
