Information from Tipperary North Family History Research Service via Ivan ASHBURY
The Rolleston family first arrived in Ireland from England in 1610, in the reign of James I.
The Rollestons were a gentry family in the Offaly panhandle, so the marriage with the Ashburys who were in trades was interesting.????iThe first relates to the widow of James Franck Rolleston marrying a cabinet maker of Dublin.????iArcher may have been a maker for fine furniture for the gentry (an elevated station is suggested by the other Archer parties being a clergyman and a military officer), but this is nonetheless another link into trade for this family.????iIt may also be noted that Mary was baptised five months after her parents marriage.
