Notes about Cornelis van KUIJEN

Cornelis van Kuijen diende als korporaal van Nationale Militie bij de verzorgingstroepen voor de
Eerste Wereldoorlog.
Cornelis van Kuijen was eigenaar van de slagerij op de Hilversumschestraat 40 in den Haag. Hij
dreeft die zaak van 1935 tot ongeveer 1953. Nadien zette zijn zoon Anton de slagerij voort tot
ongeveer 1980.
Hij hertrouwde vijf jaar na het overlijden van eerste vrouw met zijn buurvrouw, weduwe met twee
zoons, die een sigarenzaak had. Op de dag van hun huwelijk verhuisden zij met 3 kinderen van
Kuijen en de twee zoons van der Starre naar de Dierenschelaan 7, den Haag, een zeer ruim dubbel
bovenhuis. (Later zou Dirk van der Starre met Annie van Kuijen trouwen).
Hij was een liefhebber van motorrijden: hij was eigenaar van tenminste twee Harley Davidson's na
elkaar. Toen zijn leeftijd het motorrijden te riskant maakte, ging hij bromfietsen.
Hij was oprichter/voorzitter van RK Rustenburgsche Voetbalvereniging.
RKRVv ging later, door fusie, op in RK Voetbal Vereniging Quick Steps, waarvan Cornelis van
Kuijen ere-voorzitter werd.
