Notes about Nicolaas Petrus "Claas" Spapens

Cornelis Botermans uit Riel vestigde zich in 1749 te Tilburg. In 1751 werd hij te Goirle eigenaar van een huis, schuur en schop aan de Abcoven, gekocht van Otto van Dijck, vorster van Tilburg en Goirle, 'uijt kragt van Johan Roessing collect eur der ordinaire 's lands verpondigen en conincxbeden over Goirle anno 1749-1750'.
Nicolaas en zijn zwager Jan Willemse uit Diessen, gehuwd met Maria Catharina Botermans, delen in 1783 de goederen van hun schoonouders waarbij het bovengenoemde huis in handen komt van Jan Willemse.
Nicolaas erft een weide onder Riel aan het Kerkeind genaamd 't Swaantje, de Raapakker te Riel aan het Kerkeind, de Langenakker, de Aanstede en het Meerland te Riel, nog een perceel weide aldaar en de helft in een beemd aan de reijensche Bosschen on der Rijen.
De goederen onder Riel waren belast met een jaarlijks pacht van ƒ 4.16.- aan de armen van Baarle en 'eenen kop kosterskoorn' aan de koster van Riel.
In 1769 koopt Claas een huis, stal, bakhuis en hof te Goirle aan de Abcoven van Peter van Broekhoven, waarvoor hij een lening aangaat van Geertruij Smarius.
Zijn kinderen delen in 1814 de nagelaten goederen, waarbij de oudste zoon, Jacobus, als trekker van het eerste lot, erft; het Raapakkerken, de Aanstede en de Grote Weij te Riel, Peter Spapens erft een half huisje met 20 roeden hof te Goirle aan de Abcoven en een akker als trekker van het tweede lot.
De drie andere kinderen krijgen ieder 200 gulden en voor 50 gulden aan huisraad en meubilair.
