al vele jaren ondervonden dat het gedrag en de kwaadaardigheid van haar man van jaar tot jaar erger
werd. Ze was nu beducht voor ‘slimmer’ (Gronings voor ‘erger’) gevolgen. Echtgenoot Izaak
Scholtens was een broer van Harmen Scholtens (1703-1774), vermaner bij de Groninger Oude
Vlamingen. Het echtpaar Scholtens-Cremer behoorde tot de Groninger Oude Vlamingen die zich bij
de Zwitsers hadden aangesloten.
