Is ongehuwd gebleven. Heeft enkele maanden in 1942 in kamp Fochteloo gezeten als dwangarbeider en is in de nacht van 2 op 3 oktober naar Westerbork afgevoerd. Van daaraf is hij op 5 oktober naar Auschwitz/Polen getransporteerd waar hij als nummer 177.406 als dwangarbeider te werk werd gesteld in sub-kamp Blechhammer. Vanaf 21 januari 1945 vertrekt hij daarvandaan met een dodenmars richting kamp Gross Rosen in de omgeving waarvan hij op 7 februari overleed. Over de tijd die hij doorbracht in kamp Fochteloo is geschreven in het boek "Jodenkampen" pagina 352 e.v. 2e druk 2007, Uitgeverij Kok in Kampen, schrijver Niek v.d. Oord. ISBN 978 90 435 0641 0.
