    Mrs. John A. Ver Steeg, born Annie Vischer, passed away at the Municipal hospital Friday morning, June 3, at the age of 86 years and 4 months, after being hospitalized seven weeks due to leukemia. Mrs. Ver Steeg was born in The Netherlands February 3, 1880, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Vischer. She came to America at the age of two years and spent all of her life in Sioux County.She was united in marriage to John A. Ver Steeg on April 24, 1902.
    Preceding her in death were her husband in 1937, a son Laurence in 1963 and a son in infancy.

    She leaves to mourn her passing eleven children: Mrs. William (Carrie) Boone of Sioux Center; Mrs.Gerrit (Henrietta) Wesselink and James Ver Steeg both of Sibley; Rev. G.J. Ver Steeg,Wilbur Ver Steeg, Marion Ver Steeg and Mabel, Mrs. Jake De Haan all of Orange City; Harold Ver Steeg of Hopkins, Minn.; Rev. Benjamin Ver Steeg of Artesia, Calif.; Nelvina Ver Steeg of Parchment, Mich.; and Dr. Clarence Ver Steeg of Evanston, Ill. She is also survived by 39 grandchildren; 85 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one brother, John Vischer of Lake Crystal, Minn., and a host of relatives and friends.
