    Aalberts, Leon Ann 70, of Oswego died Friday, February 18 at her home. Leon was born February 9, 1941, in the family home near Primghar, Iowa, the daughter of the late Harry and Marjorie (Mouw) Reinsma.

    She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she served as a Deacon and Elder. She received a BA from Northwestern College at Orange City, Iowa, and had taught English and Mathematics for three years at Hamilton, Michigan. While raising two sons she returned to school and earned an MBA from the University of Iowa. She has been employed with her expertise in Management Information Systems at the Med Labs at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Northwestern Bell, AT&T, IBM, Upper Iowa University, North Central College and Lucent Technology.

    She is survived by her husband, Leon Keith Aalberts who she married on June 7, 1963; her two sons, Daniel (Erica Dankmeyer) Aalberts of Williamstown, MA, Joel (Amy) Aalberts of Normal; three grandchildren, Owen Aalberts, Maya Aalberts, Esme Aalberts; two sisters, Alma (Tom) VanVossen of Sioux City, IA, Lorie Reinsma of Elmhurst and close nephew Jason Silverthorn of Lynchburg, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Shila Wiebe; three brothers, John Reinsma, Larry Reinsma and Harvey Reinsma. She loved to travel and the arts. Leon was a gifted teacher and mentor, a loving wife, mother and Nana, a close friend to many A memorial service will be held 6:00 p.m. Friday, February 25 with her husband Leon and Pastor Terry Hennesy officiating at the Dunn family Funeral Home with Crematory, 1801 S. Douglas Rd., Oswego, IL., 60543-0665, phone 630-554-3888. After the service there will be a gathering of family and friends at the funeral home until 9:00 p.m. Later in the spring there will be services in Cedar Rapids and in northwest, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the Youth Ministry at the Oswego Presbyterian Church or the American Brain Tumor Assn, 2720 River Rd, Des Plaines, IL., 60018.
