    June 28, 1925-February 1987
    Funeral services for Alberta Barents, 61, formerly of Everly, will be 1 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church, Everly. The Rev. Allen Wiese will officiate. Caskets Bearers will be Jack Harms, Darrell Walton, Lee Boltjes, Ed Ferguson, Ronny Walton and Ron Mills. Burial will be at the Lone Tree Cemetery, Everly. Mrs. Barents died Monday in Escondido, California.

    The daughter of William and Gertrude (Bless) Mouw, she was born June 28, 1925, in Sioux County. She married Edward Barents, December 22, 1943 in Sanborn.

    Following their marriage, they spent four years in Ireton and then moved to Sanborn where they lived for 10 years, They also lived in Hospers for one year. In 1959, they moved to Everly.

    Mrs. Barents moved to California in January of 1983 to live with her son. While living there, she was a food manager for Kmart for four years.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on May 21, 1978; one sister; and one step-brother.

    Survivors include a son, Bruce of Orange, California; one daughter, Vicky of Elkhorn, Nebraska; four grandchildren; three sisters, Winifred Schoeneman of Adrian, Minnesota, Grace Beyers of Rochester Hills, Michigan; three step-brothers, Garret and William Mouw of Spencer and robert Mouw of Sheldon; and one step-sister, Thelma Winter
