    Garret E. Kamphuis, 73, Rt. 3, Waupun, died Monday morning, Dec. 7, 1981, at Waupun Memorial Hospital. He was born July 17, 1908, in the town of Trenton, a son of the late Edward and Gertrude Bossenbroek Kamphuis. On Sept. 24, 1931, he was married to Jessie Mouw in the town of Alto. Following their marriage, the couple farmed in the Waupun and Alto area. For the past eight years, Mr. Kamphuis was a Renk Seed Corn Dealer. He was a member of the Town Board of Alto, Waupun Lions Club, and a Member of Alto Reformed Church.

    He is survived by his widow, Jessie, with whom he had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in September; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Karen) Johnston, of Route 3, Waupun; a brother, Raymond Kamphuis, rural Waupun; two granddaughters Kristin and Karla Johnston, Rt. 3, Waupun, Nieces and nephews; and three sisters, Mrs. Ray R. (Edith) Vande Zande, Waupun; Mrs. Gerald (Marge) Bossenbroek and Mrs. Clarence (Alyce) Greenfield, both of rural Waupun.

    Funeral services for Mr. Kamphuis will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Alto Reformed Church. The Rev. Cornie Keunen and the Rev. Andy Kamphuis will officiate. Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery in Alto.

    Friends and relatives of Mr. Kamphuis may call at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday at the church from noon until time of services.
