    John Kraai died last week Friday at his home in Orange City at the age of 83 years, 3 months and 4 days.

    On November 24, 1857 Mr. Kraai was born at Pella, and he came to Orange City in the year 1871. In 1883 he was united in marriage to Wybregtje Dykstra. They moved to Newkirk in 1884 and in 1895 they moved to the Orange City vicinity, where he lived until the time of his death.

    On April 4, 1896 Mrs. Kraai died. She was survived by her husband and three sons. Edward, Jerry and William, Jerry was taken by death in 1922.

    In 1898 Mr. Kraai was married to Mary Newendorp and the following children were born to this union: Fred, Harold and Dulce, N.M. Nelson of Los Angeles, Calif., Raymond and Mabel of Le Mars.

    He is survived by his widow, and the seven children named in the preceding paragraphs, besides 16 grandchildren and 5 great 'grandchildren. He also leaves 1 sister, Mrs. T. Salie of Edgerton and 1 half sister, Mrs. Neal Schalekamp of Orange City.

    Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the home and at 1 o'clock and at 1:30 in the Trinity Ref. church with Rev. J.G. Brouwer in charge. Burial was made in the Orange City cemetery.
