    Today, Wednesday, April 19, was the interment of our friend Evert Kraaij, who died two days ago at the age of 78 years.

    The old gentleman was one of the first settlers of Pella and earned the respect of all who knew him. He fell asleep in the full belief that he was going to his maker, Jesus Christ.

    A number of friends and acquaintances accompanied his remains to the cemetery.
