Jay Dolphus Pyles, Jr., 77, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at LorisCommunity Hospital.

He was born in California, a son of the late Jay Dolphus Pyles, Sr. andEthel Huddleston Pyles.

He was the widower of Carolyn B. Pyles.

Survivors include two daughters, Jaye Lynn Ellis of Florence and JeanneStancil of Whitesville, N.C.; and a sister, Lorraine Bryant ofCalifornia.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Isaac Gore Cemetery inTabor City, N.C.

Inman Funeral Home of Tabor City is in charge.
