CLARENDON, N.C. - Carolyn G. Pyles, 79, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, atNew Hanover Hospital in Wilmington, N.C.

She was born in Columbus County, N.C., a daughter of the late Isaac C.and Lillie Bell Gore.

Survivors include her husband, Jay Pyles; two daughters, Jaye Lynn PylesEllis of Florence and Jeanne Pyles Stancil of Whiteville, N.C.; fivesisters, Jeanette Beck of Clarendon, Rosa Cribb of Denver, N.C., Betty JoJenrette of Tabor City, N.C., Louise Rhodes of Chadbourn, N.C., and EvyLou Shealy of Charleston; a brother, Elmore Gore of Tabor City; threegrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and threegreat-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Inman Funeral Home in TaborCity. Burial will be in Isaac Gore Cemetery in Tabor City.
