Ord. that letters of administration on estate of Simon Dyson, dec'd be
granted to Mathew Long, upon his entering into bond of $600 with N.L.
Williamson, Henry Best, Senr. & Henry Best, Junr. as his sureties, the
widow of sd deceased having in open court renounced her right to
administer thereon.

Ord. that Mathew Long, Admr. of Simon Dyson, dec'd, have leave to sell
the perishable property of estate of sd dec'd upon credit of six months.

Ord. that Henry Best, Esqr, Valentine Richardson, James Hinson & James
Smith be apptd Commissoners to lay off & allot to Rebecca Dyson, widow
of Simon Dyson, dec'd, one years allowance for her & family out of the
crop stock provisions & money & that they report thereof to next Term of
this Court.

We find the children in the 1860 Columbus Co census Family #741 with Joseph E. Stephens and wife Mary P. Stephens. daughter Sarah E. Stephens age 3.
Henry Clay Long is listed as age 21 farmhand b. NC Co. H., 18th Regt.
Martha A. 19, John J. 17, Nancy J. 14; Charity 12; and Julia 9; are all listed as student and b. in NC.
