---------------

Raymond Montgomery, in his post to SGM, 14 Dec 1999, stated that WilliamDouglas, of Douglas, was b. about 1305. The only William Douglas ofDouglas who would fit was the son of James Douglas, who BP and CP saiddied unmarried 19 July 1333. (I assume since the Battle of Halidon Hillhappened on that very date, that that is the cause--as confirmed by notesunder his father James. A lot of Douglass died that day.) I believethat Margaret Douglas was illegitimate, which would fit with Williambeing unmarried.
