WILLIAM DE STANLEY, son and heir; forester of Wirral Forest; in 1346 hewas granted a pardon at the request of Henry, Earl of Lancaster andDerby; in 1355 he, with many others, was accused of an attack on theAbbey of Burton-upon-Trent; in 1359, with his son William, he enteredinto a recognisance; in 1361-62 he successfully claimed the hereditaryforestership of Wirral Forest.
