    Obituary for Oma McFadden Honeycutt
    Oma McFadden Honeycutt, 91 passed away peacefully on October 19, 2014 at the home of her granddaughter, surrounded by her loved ones.

    Oma was born October 5, 1923 in Gaston County, NC. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Edgar McFadden and Timmie Ellen Harvey.

    She was a long time member of First Baptist Church Charlotte and a member of the Berean Bible Class. Oma’s love for the Lord was transparent; she lived her life every day in a way that was pleasing to her heavenly Father. She loved people and doing for others. Oma will be deeply missed by all who truly knew her.

    Oma was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. James D. Honeycutt of 52 years, son Edward Kenneth Stokes, 8 brothers and 4 sisters. She is survived by her loving granddaughter, Lisa Frye (Eddie), grandson, Bryan Church (Wendy), 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

    Special thanks to her friend Paula with Always Best Care Senior Services for her love and exceptional care for Oma.

    A funeral service will be held on Friday, at Twelve Noon at First Baptist Church Charlotte, the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

    Memorials may be made in Oma’s memory to First Baptist Church Charlotte, 301 S Davidson St, Charlotte, NC 28202 or the Baptist Children’s Orphanage, P. O. Box 338, Thomasville, NC 27361.
