    Wesley Hall Brooks, age 81, a resident of Bellewood Dr., died Friday morning in a local nursing home. He was a native of Person County and was the son of the late David Stokes Brooks Sr. and Banna James Brooks.

    He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and a graduate of Elon College and did his undergraduate work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Men's Sunday School Class and was a former member of the board of trustees. He assisted in organizing the History Room of the First United Methodist Church and was a 20-year volunteer for the Maria Parham Hospital Host Club. He was also a former member of the Henderson Rotary Club and the Henderson Civitan Club. He was a retired manager of the Employment Security Commission in Henderson.

    He is survived by his wife, Myra Huff Brooks of the home; one daughter, Banna Brooks of Henderson; and one brother, James C. Brooks of Roxboro.
