1 -12 Jean Ratchford, married Jewell and is named in both her father and mother's wills.
Some people say Jewell and Fewell names were interchangeable at one time. There are many Fewells in the York Co, South Carolina area. In checking through the wills in York Co, South Carolina, I (WRC) could locate no Jean Ratchford Fewell. Several wills, however, mentioned "my wife", but gave no name. Macie McAliley's records say "Jean (Jennet) married a [414, “Ratchfords...I Reckon”, Wilma Ratchford Craig, Gateway Press, Baltimore, Maryland, 1971. (c) 1971, Library of Congress Card Catalog No. 75-180719.] Mr. Fewell".
