Mary Christine Barber Proffitt, daughter of the late John F. and Ruth Ashley Barber, was born at Vaught Ridge, KY on October 25, 1925 and departed this life on Monday, June 12, 2006 having attained the age of 80 years. She was united in marriage to Mr. Potter Eugene Proffitt on April 17, 1946; he preceded her in death on May 12, 2002. Survivors include; eight children, Rick and Deanna Proffitt, Ronnie and Audrey Proffitt, Ruth Hicks, Geraldine Dodson, Carol(and Jackie)Clines, Shirley (and Don)Stoner, Annie (and Dennis)Ryan, and Linda (and Brent)Dobbs; one sister, Delores Voiles; two brothers, Vertel and Ezra Barber; 25 grandchildren, David, Debbie, Missy & Charlotte Hicks, Danny Emler, Angie (and Ralph) Rutherford, Paul (and Tina) Dodson, Melinda (and Dwayne) Stogsdill, Jody (and Jennifer) Clines, Brian Clines, Shayne (and Rosa) Thomas, Leona Graves, Melody (and Royce) Hashberger, Kenny (and Meesha) Stoner, Timothy Ryan, James Ryan, Christopher (and Victoria) Proffitt, Michelle Proffitt, Latasha Dobbs, Alisha Dobbs, Crystal Dobbs, Michael Dobbs, Veronica Proffitt, Lacey Creekmore and John Creekmore, 27 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a former son-in-law; William Dodson; and a former daughter-in-law, Joann Proffitt. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by;one daughter, Phyllis Ann Proffitt; one sister, Ima Adams; and two brothers, Gene and James Barber. She was a kind and loving wife, sister, and mother who gave unselfishly. She heard the call from Jesus and those who have gone on before her. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Norwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Ridge Cemetery. The family of Mary Christine Proffitt will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at Pulaski Funeral Home. Pulaski Funeral Home is entrusted with all funeral arrangements
