    Death: Aug. 12, 1991

    The Rev. Hersel R. Watson, 86, Eubank, died Monday, Aug. 12, 1991, at Jewish Hospital, Cincinnati, following a long illness.

    A native of Casey County, he was born Dec. 22, 1904, son of Huston Thomas and Emma Jane Ashley Watson. He was a farmer and member of Floyd Switch Baptist Church. He had been a minister since 1956, pastored several Baptist churches in Pulaski and Lincoln counties and served as interim pastor in several churches.

    His wife, Alice M. Watson, whom he married June 24, 1925, died May 30, 1977.

    Survivors include four sons, Harold Watson, Covington, Ralph Watson, Englewood, Ohio, Robert Watson, Leominster, Mass., and Billy Watson, Mason, Ohio; a brother, the Rev Herman Watson, St. Marys, Ohio; two sisters, Ora Spears, Bethelridge, and Essie Hines, Cincinnati; a half sister, Irene Sweet, Cincinnati; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers, Noel, William A. and Jerry Watson; and one granddaughter, Shirley Ann Watson Black.

    Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel of Morris and Hislope Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnie Waters officiating.

    Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery.
