Dickey taught school for 16 years in Campbellsville City School system and 14 years in the Adair County School system. She was married to Willie Matt Humphress, who preceded her in death in 1982. She was later married to John Edward Dickey, who also preceded her in death in 1988. Survivors include two sons and one daughters, William B. Humphress and James W. Humphress, both of Campbellsville, and Patsy Humphress of Beuchel; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Wallace Knifley, Rollin Knifley and Murrie Knifley.
