Nancy Kittrell and Gideon Wright were the parents of fifteen children. In 1918, long after the deaths of both her parents, Mildred Wright filed a suit in Maury County, Tennessee, Chancery Court against all the other heirs of Gideon and Nancy Kittrell Wright. This suit was merely a formality to satisfy a legal technicality. There was a piece of land that Nancy and Gideon owned, and for many years Mildred had been overseer of the land, keeping it rented and paying the taxes. She had grown old, and the land was in disrepair, no longer being farmed and with fences falling down. Mildred Wright wanted the land to be sold and the money received to be divided among all the heirs. In order to produce clear title to the land, the transaction had to go through the courts with all the known heirs being notified and signing permission to sell. From a genealogy point of view, these court papers are priceless because all the heirs of Gideon and Nancy are listed in the suit. They are:1. Josh K. Wright, [must be Joshua Kittrell after grandfather. C.S]a son who died in 1846, and left surviving him as heirs[eight children as of 1850 census all born by 1846 by his wife and cousin Martha E. Kittrell (Wright), daughter of William "Buck" Kittrell and first wife Lucy S. Hayes (which first wife also had EGBERT Bryant and Lucy Frances Kittrell) and of which these following children are the ones who are named... C.S.]a) Josh S.
