Martha H. Hutcherson was born in Virginia in 1827. She became a Christian at the age of 15 and lived a consistent Christian life. Like the strong oak in the forest she remained faithful through cold winters and long summers. She was a benediction to those who knew her. For her live was the Christ life exemplified. Mrs. Hutcherson was the mother of 10 children. Her husband and 2 children have passed on before her. She passed away January 29, 1905, aged 77 years, 9 months, 24 days. The remains were interred in Summit View cemetery.
