=======================================

Fairfield Recorder - May 22 (AP)

"Missing Man's Body Discovered in Creek

May 22 (AP) - The body of Oliver A. Bonner, 53, farmer and carpenter
of Stewards Mill, near Fairfield in East Central Texas, was found in a
creek after a search of several hours. Justice of the Peace R. H.
Bradley said indications were Bonner died between 4 and 5 p.m.
Thrusday. It was believed he tried to cross the creek on a log,
slipped and drowned. He had gone out to repair fences in
midafternoon. A member of a prominent Freestone County family, Bonner
is survived by his wife, two sons and six brothers."

=======================================

Drowned crossing Tehuacana Creek while checking cattle & fences. He
was carrying a roll of "hog wire" (a checkered mesh kind of wire about
3' tall). He cut down a tree across the creek. He fell as he was
walking across the log and drowned in the creek. This was at the end
of the road that runs past the Bonner Cemetery.

Sam (Albert's brother) told Forrest Wood, Jr. a story about finding
the body.

=======================================

Oliver had kept his interest in the land across (north of) Tehuacana
Creek that he raised cattle on. The tract is where the old Robinson
Cemetery and the current Herman Jones #1 well is located. Tom
Robinson Bonner had bought his other brothers' interest.

After Oliver's death, the land was divided (not equally) between Tom
Robinson Bonner and the descendants of Oliver (the bottom - the best
land in terms of growing crops or raising cattle).

Edd Robinson Bonner inherited from Tom Robinson Bonner's portion of
the land.

Michael Edd Bonner inherited this from his father, Edd Robinson
Bonner. Michael Edd Bonner sold the surface land to someone outside
the family, while the mineral rights were retained by the Tom Robinson
Bonner descendants.

As of 2003, the Herman Jones #1 well located on this tract is still
producing gas for the descendants of Tom Robinson Bonner.
