    Uit een kranten berichten namen wij het volgende over.
    "Pastoor Verdonk overleden.
    Hij was 22 jaar vrijwilligerspastoor van de eind vorige maand gesloten Bossche Sint-Jacobskerk. Na het overlijden van pastoor M. Teulings in 1980 kwam de parochie zonder pastoor te zitten. Verdonk stelde zich beschikbaar als pastor. Hij heel erg toegewijd, had ook oog voor de kleinere zaken in de parochie en ook voor het kerkgebouw zelf, Eind 2000 viel het besluit de Jacob te sluiten. Hij vocht tot het laatste moment om de kerk te behouden.Zondag 20-1-2002 ging hij voor in de officieuse sluitingsdienst, door ziekte verzwakt. Een week later, tijdens de officiële sluiting, liet hij uit protest verstek gaan. Het kerkbestuur omschrijft hem als de grootste vrijwilliger van de Jacob. Voor zijn uitvaartdienst zal de kerk nog eenmaal opengaan."

Surveillant op het Klein Seminarie Beekvliet te St. Michielsgestel van juli 1954 tot juli 1956. Student biologie te Utrecht en kapelaan van de St. Pieter te 's-Hertogenbosch van 1956 tot 1962. Leraar biologie op het Klein Seminarie Beekvliet te St. Michielsgestel, later in 1972 omgezet in het R.K. Gymnasium Beekvliet, van juli 1962 tot aan zijn VUT-leeftijd. Na 1972 ook moderator aldaar.
