17-3-1744 deed hij in Breda belijdenis:
Op zeer jonge leeftijd in militaire dienst getreden werd hij in 1742 bombardier; op 14-12-1744 onderluitenant; op 6-12-1746 1e luitenant; op 7-4-1749 kapitein-luitenant; op 24-10-1770 kapitein; op 30-8-1779 majoor; op 18-1-1785 luitenant-kolonel; op 13-10-1787 kolonel; op 5-2-1788 Chef der Artillerie; op 29-1-1794 Generaal-Majoor. In dat jaar had hij het bevel over de voorhoede van het leger, dat onder de Prins van Oranje op 20 april het versterkte kamp der Fransen bij Landrecies overmeesterde. In 1795 verliet hij de dienst. Onder zijn directie heeeft het wapen der Artillerie belangrijke vorderingen gemaakt. Hij had o.a. het directe toezicht op de geschutgieterij. Hij verkreeg 11-9-1789 vernieuwing van het burgerrecht van Chur, dat zijn voorvaderen hadden.
