Henk van Heeren was van beroep timmerman/aannemer en is op 14 jarige leeftijd met werken begonnen. In 1925 kocht hij 2 percelen grond aan de voorheen de Oudelandscheweg in Dubbeldam. Henk heeft daar 2 woonhuizen gebouwd met daar achter een werkplaats, waar hij al het timmerwerk gereed maakte, zoals ramen, deuren, kozijnen, trappen, aanrechtkastjes en bijkomende werkzaamheden. In de oorlog maakte hij hoofdzakelijk broeiramen voor tuinders. Henk van Heeren is ruim 60 jaar werkzaam geweest als timmerman in Dubbeldam.
