Visitation for Margaret Marie VanAndel of Lynden will be from 9 a.m. tonoon today at Gillies Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 1:15 p.m. inMonumenta Cemetery. There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Second Christian Reformed Church with the Rev. Bob Tichelaar officiating.

Mrs. VanAndel died Tuesday, July 8, 1997, at Christian Health Care Center. She was 84.

Born Feb. 16, 1913, to Matthew and Mrie VanderGriend Meenk in Lynden, she was a lifelong county resident.

She married John "Chris" VanAndel on June 24, 1937, in Lynden.

Mrs. VanAndel lived in Blaine from 1949 to 1983 before returning to Lynden.

A charter member of Second Christian Reformed Church and a member of Good Sam Club, she was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed traveling.

Mrs. VanAndel was preceded in death by her husband in 1992; a son, John, in 1964; a brother, Clarence Meenk; and a sister, Adriana Starkenburg.

Memorials may be made to Lynden Christian Schools, 515 Drayton St., Lynden, WA 98264, or to Second Christian Reformed Church, 710 Front St., Lynden, WA 98264.
