Als zijn moeder in het kraambed overlijdt komt hij bij tante Christina en oom Cornelis Teuling in huis (in Almkerk)
Op 28-11-1900 gaat hij naar Rotterdam (geadopteerd door rijke mensen) Ze wonen daar op verschillende adressen (Tollenstraat 103, 75, 73, Zomerhofstraat 28, Pijnackerpl 26, Plantageweg 55)
Op 28-3-1907 vertrekt hij naar Apeldoorn

Op 9 maart 1934 komt het gezin van de in Drongelen geboren boekhouder Johannes van der Beek (1898-1992) en zijn in Steggerda geboren vrouw Hiltje Gorter (1899-1973) Ze woonden op Wendelaan 11, voorheen: "Mea Vota" nu: "Emma" met hun dochter Michielda Gerarda Jannie (geb. Apeldoorn, 1928). Volgens het adresboek (Erica) van 1948 was de moeder van Hiltje, Trijntje Bakker (1869-1954) toen inwonend.
