Voert samen met zijn broer Adriaan de stoffenzaak aan de Markt die zij van hun vader hebben overgenomen. Zoon Willem neemt de zaak over in de jaren zestig over maar echter voor korte duur. Willem verhuurt de zaak aan zijn oom Jerome Spaas, zoon van Jacques Spaas uit Bodegraven. Daarna wordt de zaak verhuurt aan horeca en particulieren. Eind jaren zestig dus einde van de stoffenhandel.
