geboren 7-1-1867 te Gouda, Kattensingel Q 121, akte nr. 16. Getuigen Johannes Arnoldus Biezenaar, 26 jaar, kleingarenfabrikeur; Adrianus johannes Biezenaar, 29 jaar, kleingarenfabrikeur, beiden wonende te Gouda.
Koos huwt voor de wet op 3-6-1891 te Gouda met Elisabeth Maria Anthonia Thier, akte nr. 65. Getuigen zijn Johannes Cornelis van Catz, 22 jaar, zonder beroep wonende te Haarlem; David Maria Zoetmulder, 30 jaar, graanfactor en wonende te Schiedam, aangehuwd; Johannes Justinus Maria Thier, 33 jaar, hoedenfabrikant te Gouda (broer); Theodorus Antonius Maria Thier, 32 jaar, arts en wonende te hoenkoop (neef). Hij is overleden op 11-7-1921 te Gouda, Kattensingel 56, (oud nr. Q 142), akte nr. 169. Geloof RK. Beroep Garenfabrikant.

Koos volgt zijn vader op als garenfabrikant en begint o.a. koord met machines te fabriceren. In de eerste jaren (van de twintigste eeuw verhuist het bedrijf van de Kattensingel naar de Fluwelensingel 95, 96 en 97 en associeert zich met een ander voormalig buur aan de Kattensingel te weten touwslagersbedrijf "Spit en de Vletter".

Op 1 januari 1918 wordt opgericht de Commanditaire Vennootschap "Verenigde Touwfabrieken v/h Fa. Spit en de Vletter, v/h Fa. J.B. van Catz en Zoon". Voor het verdere verloop van het bedrijf zie periode vanaf 1890 bij zoon Theo).

Koos heeft echter een slechte gezondheid en overlijdt in 1921, oud 54 jaar. Koos heeft een testament laten opmaken d.d. 3-6-1891 akte nr. 265 bij notaris G.C.F. Drooglever te Gouda. Op 27-08-1920, nr. repertum 4041 bij notaris W. Pillo. Nog niet voor inzage beschikbaar.
