Had een smederij op het terrein van de scheepshelling van zijn broer Piet. Na de aanleg van een Gemeente gasnet werd hij chef gasfitter bij het Gasbedrijf te Volendam. Hij was verschillende keren kerkmeester van de Herv. kerk te Volendam en was drager van de zilveren medaille van de orde van Oranje Nassau.
