Notes about Pieter Ane Glastra van Loon

Woonde in Scharnegoutum. Zoon van Hessel Jan Glastra van Loon en Fokeltje Heukels. Ongehuwd (verloofd met Trijntje Hijke Bouma, 8 augustus 1919 Scharnegoutum - 6 april 2007 Leeuwarden). Zijn verloofde beviel ruim acht maanden na zijn dood van een zoon, die ook Pieter Ane werd genoemd (11 november 1945 Scharnegoutum). Onderwijzer aan een school voor christelijk volksonderwijs. Nederlands Hervormd. Lid verzet met de schuilnaam Pedro en behorend tot de KP-Scharnegoutum en de LO-Wymbritseradeel. Hij deed mee aan overvallen (onder meer op het gemeentehuis van Baarderadeel in Mantgum op 4 december 1944), sabotage, wapendroppings, vervalsing van persoonsbewijzen en hulp aan onderduikers. Glastra van Loon was ondergedoken op de boerderij van Hessel Bouma in Scharnegoutum. Daar vond op 8 februari 1945 een overval plaats door de SD en een peloton militairen van de Duitse Wehrmacht. Bouma, zijn beide zonen en onderduiker Jan Mensonides werden gearresteerd. Pedro en een andere verzetsman, Heinrich Roth (12 mei 1912 Ratingen, Duitsland), konden ontkomen door een nooduitgang over de zolder. Uiteindelijk gaven de Duitsers het zoeken op. Wel bleef in opdracht van de SD een aantal landwachters de boerderij bezet houden. Tot 12 februari 1945 konden beide mannen het uithouden zonder voedsel, licht en sanitaire voorzieningen. Ten gevolge van uitputting verloor Roth het bewustzijn, waarna Glastra van Loon besloot medische hulp te vragen. Toen hij uit zijn schuilplaats tevoorschijn kwam volgde meteen zijn aanhouding. Ook Roth werd opgepakt. De twee zijn overgebracht naar het SD-bolwerk Crackstate in Heerenveen. Als represaille voor de aanslag op de NSB-tolk en SD-handlangster Grietje Sinnema (Joelke) op 3 maart 1945 bij Dongjum zijn Glastra van Loon en Roth met drie anderen gefusilleerd. De stoffelijke overschotten bleven onder politiebewaking een etmaal ter afschrikking liggen. Op de executieplaats staat een gedenkteken met zijn naam, evenals op monumenten aan de Eysingaweg in Rinsumageast, de Nederlands Hervormde Kerk in Dongjum en bij het kerkhof op de hoek van De Terp en de Achterbuorren in Scharnegoutum.
