Notes about Lucas Marinus

Lucas Marinus maakte gebruik van het familiewapen. In het archief van Dirk
Haak, bewindvoerder van de Oost-Indische compagnie is een brief van Lucas te
vinden, die is gezegeld met het familiewapen. Lucas gebruikte overigens ook een
gecompliceerder wapen. Dit wapen wordt in de heraldiek omschreven als
"horizontaal doorsneden, met aan de bovenkant de "meerman" en de bene den helft
voorzien van" een keper beladen met drie schelpen, geplaatst in de richting van
de benedenkeper. Opmerkelijk is dat het "keper-wapen" waarschijnlijk van de
Betuwse familie Van Leeuwen is. In 1703 wordt een zekere Johan van Leeuwen
schepen te Tiel. Deze Johan was getrouwd met Zwanna Haeck. Lucas zijn vrouw
heeft "van Leeuwen" en hij correspondeert met de gebr, Haak. Toeval, het zou
kunnen, maar het is niet waarschijnlijk. Verder onderzoek brengt hier
waarschijnlijk wel opheldering.
In het kohier van de personele quotisatie te Amsterdam over het jaar 1742 komt
hij als volgt voor: Cingel W30, verpl.no 5309, beroep:wijnroeier, dienstbode:1,
huur in gldn: 570, inkomen in gldn: 1500.
