    In een schrijven van 18-09-2008 deelt de gemeente mee, dat er een voornemen is tot aanwijzing van het pand Bergweg 25 tot gemeentelijk monument, omdat het pand ca. 1890 gebouwd is als koetshuis met koetsierswoning bij de inmiddels afgebroken villa Hofwerk . Aan de achterzijde is in 1926 een garage voor een garagebedrijf bijgebouwd. Er is een redengevende omschrijving bijgevoegd ( in familiearchief). Het koetshuis is van alg. belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische, de architectuurhistorische en de ensemblewaarde, alsmede vanwege de gaafheid.
    Het koetshuis heeft cultuurhistorische waarde vanwege de oorspr. functie en als een bijzonder onderdeel v/e 19e-eeuwse villa. Het koetshuis is van architectuurhistorisch belang vanwege de kwaliteit v/h ontwerp, vanwege de voor de bouwtijd kenmerkende hoofdvorm, materiaalgebruik en detaillering.
    Het koetshuis heeft ensemblewaarde vanwege de sterke architectonische en stedenbouwkundige samenhang met de nabij staande bebouwing en als een bijzonder onderdeel van het Noordwestelijke Villagebied, waarmee het een belangrijke historisch-ruimtelijke reltie heeft.
    Het koetshuis is tevens van belang vanwege de herkenbaarheid en de grote mate van gaafheid van het exterieur.
