     On October 24, 1385, Robert II granted Walter an annualrent of the
lands of Kyngaltny. He was sheriff of Perth before 1380. He was killed at the battle of Glenbrierachan or Glasklune in 1392, repelling an inroad of Highlanders. Source: Scots Peerage, Volume 1, pp. 107 - 108

Burkes adds that the Highlanders were led by Duncan Stewart, natural son of Alexander, Earl of Buchan. Sir Walter was killed with his uterine brother, Walter Lighton, and about 60 of his followers.
