Die voor Margareta wordt het laatst betaald in 1601. Waarom de onderstand aan Wilhelmina ophield in 1604 wordt opgehelderd uit het trouwboek van Leiden, waar aangeteekend is, dat op den 21 Februari van dat jaar Wilhelmina van Mechelen, vergezelschapt van Anthonie van Mechelen, haar broeder, en Cornelia van Nassau, hare moeije, trouwde, en wel op het stadhuis; dit doet aannemen, dat de verloofden niet beiden tot de hervormden behoorden.

Margareta werd, misschien wel in het vermelde jaar 1601, de echtgenoot van jonkheer Philips van Steelant, ons als drossaard van Buren bekend, toen onder het beheer der gravin van Hohenlohe, Maria van Nassau.
