Notes about Abigail Holdemar

[Hardin Clay Roots.ged]

No will found for Abigale nor deed records for land location or disposal. Middlesex Co., VA Order Book 6 pp 122; 04 Aug 1724: "William Chilton, one of the legatees of Peter Chilton, dec'd, against Robert Holderness & Abigail Holderness, his wife, Thomas Chilton & Zebulon Chilton, executors of Thomas Chilton, dec'd."

From Patrick Murray:  "Middlesex Co., VA Wills and Inventories 1673-1812 And Other Court Papers" by Wm. L. Hopkins:

"Will of Thomas Walker, 28 Feb 1720 written, proved 04 Apr 1721; sworn to by Isaac Giles, brother James Hitt (sic); witnessed by Abigal Hold. (erness)"  "04 Apr 1721, Thomas Walker, dec'd. proved by Isaac Giles and Abigal Holderness."

Will Book A  1698-1713 Nuncupative Will of Thomas Stiffe  " to Thomas Walker.   Estate to be divided between four children viz Jacob Stiffe, Contstant Olphin(sic), James Stiffe, and Elizabeth Stiffe. Exor: Joseph Stiffe  3 Apr 1710 ".   Apparently Thomas Walker was the one who wrote down the death bed will of Thomas Stiffe.  This Thomas Walker appears to have a connection to Abigail Chilton/Shelton, wife of Peter Chilton/Shelton too.

The following, from the same source as above, may refer to our Abigail:

"06 Feb 1687 Edmond Chipley imports Edward Chipley, Susanna Chipley, Wm. Chipley, Roneth? Hutson, Robert Rowse, Prudence Needham, Ann More, ABIGAIL King, and Martha Asbary."

"ABIGALL LADERMAN and Martha Asberry (same as above?) servants to Edmond Chipsey (sic? same as above?)  07 Jan 1688."

"ABIGALL LADYMAN to bear a bastard child 06 Dec 1690."
