This name may also have been spelled Youell.  Later spelling would be Hewell.  All spellings are in current useage.

Her will was probated on October 25, 1708 and is listed on page 44 of Westmoreland Co., Virginia Wills by Fathergill.  She lists grandson Patrick son of Alexander Spence, deceased; Jordan Weedon and his sister Mary Weedon now wife to son of Bunch Roe; Dorcas Sanford, daughter of eldest daughter Elizabeth Sturman; daughter Jane Spence; Ellenor Munroe; Ann Sturman, Jr.; grandson Patrick son of Patrick Spence; son in law John Sturman; also mentions John Higgins and Lawrence Pope.

Note: 27 May 1702, Dorcas Spence-Jordan, former widow of Patrick Spence, testified that "Lawrence Pope & JEMIMA his wife, WHO WAS THE RELICT OF HER SAID SON John Spence" owed her money for Spence's funeral.  (Dorman, W'moreland Deeds & Wills #3, 1701-1707) And a deed dated 28 Jun 1712, LAWRENCE Pope & wife JEMIMAH made deed to Jemima's brother Thomas WADDEY, of the land that "Thomas WADDEY dec'd did give Jemima his daughter".  (Dorman, W'moreland Deeds & Wills #2, 1691-99) These documents prove conclusively that JEMIMA WADDEY married (1) John Spence (2) Lawrence Pope, and (3) Nicholas Minor as his 2nd wife.

was burgess for Westmoreland county in 1695-1696.  He came from Maryland and married Dorcas, widow of Patrick Spence.  His stepdaughter, Elinor Spence, married Andrew Monroe, ancestor of President James Monroe.
