Proven son by fathers will (see Thomas Muse).
Only John Jr., James and Daniel are proven children of John by his will dated 11 October, 1770, recorded in Westmoreland Co., Virginia
Richard is proven through a property deed recorded Westmoreland Co., Virginia where  a Henry Fitzbaugh of Stafford Co. Va. leases land to John Muse, planter and his son Richard Muse for the term of their natural lives.  Also Richards Grand Father Richard Sanford in his will dated March 27, 1733, filed Westmoreland Co. left a Negro girl to his daughter Mary Muse and after her death to her two sons, Richard and John.
Ann Muse and Thomas are identified by West and Fauntleroy as proven children.  In "Southern Legacy" the refer to a Ann Hall that named Ann and Elizabeth, daughters of John Jr. in her will.

Notes from SOUTHERN LEGACY:
In 1725 John's father conveyed to Thomas Muse Jr. 50 acres of land" now in the tenure of my oldest son, John Muse."  In 1732 John and his son Richard leased land from Henry FitzHugh.  Several deeds are listed proving John and his wife Mary Sanford.  (See will of Richard Sanford, 1757).

Will of John Muse, 11 Oct 1770, proved 27 Nov 1770, Westmoreland Co., Va; names Richard and Daniel Muse executors and names "my two sons, Daniel and James Muse and my beloved wife, Eleanor Muse."

John and Mary probably had children unidentified to date.  Proven by a deed of gift from their grandfather Richard Sanford are Richard and John.  Thomas and Ann are named by other researchers; this source does not think they are proven.  John and his second wife Eleanor had two sons proven by John's will.  One source suggests that John had 13 children.
(Jeanne Muse listed date of death as Oct, 1770.  Gary Howearth lists Nov, 1770.  Rev. McLeod says 11 Oct. 1770.)
