    Virginia Simpkins
    EAST HAVEN, Conn. — Virginia Simpkins, 94, of East Haven, Conn., and formerly of Oneonta, N.Y., passed away Sunday, June 9, 2002, at the Brandford Hills Health Care Center, Brandford, Conn., after a lengthy illness.
    She was born March 9, 1908, in Elkins, W.Va., daughter of William and Lillian (Young) Packer.
    She married Clifford G. Simpkins on Nov. 16, 1941, in Hagerstown, Md. He predeceased her Oct. 4, 1957.
    She was a housewife. She has been a resident of East Haven since 1986, and previously resided in Schenectady, N.Y., and Oneonta, N.Y.
    She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church of Oneonta.
    She is survived by a daughter, Nancy McNichol of East Haven, Conn.; three sisters, Ruth Molineux of Sidney, N.Y., Jean Tremper and Doris Gallagher, both of Oneonta; a grandson, Johnathan McNichol; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2002, at the Lewis-Hurley Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta, with the Rev. William D. Bouton, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.
    There will be no calling hours.  Arrangements are by the Lewis-Hurley Funeral Home, Oneonta.
