***
We have no proof that Wilmer Leslie Montanye was a son of Samuel and Elizabeth J. (Wilson) Montanye, but he does appear in the 1900 census with his mother and stepfather as L. W. Montanye.  It seems possible that the son "Levi" listed in the 1880 census with Samuel and Elizabeth Montanye was actually "L. W.", either Levi Wilmer or Leslie Wilmer, who eventually chose to be called "Wilmer".
