Household of Mary Adaline (Mary Adaline "Adaline") "Adaline" Mitchell

Waarschuwing Attention: Husband (Solomon B. Teter) is also her cousin.

She is married to Solomon B. Teter.

They got married on February 3, 1853 at Stone Co., MO, she was 15 years old.Sources 8, 9

According to Civil War Pension Records, Solomon Teter stated that he had married 1st Adaline Mitchell, who died in 1859 in MO.  He was in the household of William W. Mitchell, Sr., Adaline's father, at the time the 1850 U.S. Census of Randolph Co., IL, was taken.

When Adaline Mitchell married Solomon B. Teter, she would have been about 16 years of age.  Did Adaline & Solomon run away from home in St. Clair Co., IL to Stone Co., MO, so as to marry? or did Solomon find work, or buy land in Stone County and sent for Adaline?  This marriage has taken a long time to find. (12 February 2002).

Notes about Mary Adaline (Mary Adaline "Adaline") "Adaline" Mitchell

(Mary) Adaline Mitchell was born 16 April 1837 in Randolph Co., IL; she may have died in 1859, probably in Missouri.

We believe that (Mary) Adaline Mitchell must have been married, as his 1st wife, to HG #54234, TD #d.2.3.4., Solomon B. Teter, born February 29, 1828 in St. Clair Co., IL, and died February 21, 1915 in Los Angeles, CA; he was the son of  HG #5423, TD #d.2.3., Levi Teter and Annis Walker. Levi Teter was the brother of Adaline's mother, Rebecca Teter.  In the 1850 U.S. Census of Randolph Co., IL, T4S,R7W, in the household of Adaline's father, #649-654, William W. Mitchell, Solomon is listed.  It is not only possible but probable that he married his cousin, Adaline, but, we have not been able to prove this. We have found, among Solomon's "Civil War Pension Union Army Pension files that he made the statement that his 1st wife was Adaline Mitchell who died in Missouri in 1859.
